The Building Improvement Grant Program provides financial assistance to projects within the Urban Renewal Area that increase assessed value, stimulate private investment, create jobs, improve property values, increase the desirability for leasing, increase the functionality of the space, promote sustainable building practices, encourages the preservation of historic resources, provide needed housing and mixed-use development, encourage uses and amenities that promote increased residential uses, and encourage the construction of public gathering spaces.

FARMERS MARKET GRANT PROGRAM

The Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District’s (Tualatin SWCD) Farmers Market Grant Program awards grants up to $7,500 per market location for projects and events that promote conservation and support local food systems through community farmers markets in Washington County. Successful project applications are those that encourage community and vendor participation in market events, educate the public on conservation or agricultural topics, and/or make local agricultural products accessible to diverse demographics. Applications are due by 11:59pm on December 31st of each year. Funds for awarded proposals are provided up front to the applicant.

Tourism Event Sponsorship Program

The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to events that directly contribute to the growth, development, and promotion of tourism with the objective of increasing overnight lodging stays within the City of Forest Grove. Tourism Capital Grant Program

Storefront Improvement Grant Program

The Forest Grove Urban Renewal Agency created the Storefront Improvement Grant Program to help businesses and property owners improve building facades. Tualatin Watershed Improvement Grant (TWIG)

The Tualatin Watershed Improvement Grant (TWIG) awards up to $5,000 for projects that promote conservation within the Tualatin River watershed. This grant program allows us to amplify our mission by supporting other groups in Washington County.

We award grants on a competitive basis until annual funds are depleted. Funding is typically provided on a reimbursement basis. When feasible, direct payment of expenses can be arranged to reduce financial strain on the grantee.

Community Enhancement Projects 2025 Grant Program

The City of Forest Grove Community Enhancement Grant is funded from the Metro Community Enhancement (CEP) funds paid to the City of Forest Grove based on fees for each ton of solid waste collected from the Forest Grove Transfer Station.  This year, the City is issuing four, one-year $20,000 grant opportunities designed to provide funding to a nonprofit organization for a project or program that makes a sustained, targeted impact in a priority area of community concern.

Nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for Community Enhancement Grant funds with proposals for projects or programs that emphasize direct services, innovation and creativity, measurable outcomes, financial sustainability, collaboration with community partners, and other criteria.

Grant recipients are decided through the Community Enhancement Program Committee

BUILDING MAINTENANCE

  • To support essential repairs and maintenance to existing facilities

  • Grants of up to $25,000 will be considered to fund projects that improve the safety, functionality, and longevity of buildings. Aligned projects include a wide range of maintenance needs, such as:HVAC systems
    Electrical repairs
    Plumbing issues
    Roofing and exterior repairs
    General facility upgrades

NEW CONSTRUCTION

  • To support the construction, expansion or significant renovation (e.g. new wing or structure) of new facilities

  • Grants of up to $100,000 will be considered to fund the costs associated with building or significantly renovating new structures that meet the needs of the community and enhance organizational capacity. Aligned projects may include but are not limited to:Community centers
    Educational facilities
    Health or wellness centers


VEHICLE

  • To support the acquisition of a specialized vehicle or the renovation of a vehicle for a specialized purpose

  • Grants of up to $25,000 (median ~$10,000) will be considered to acquire/renovate a vehicle that will meet a unique community need and increase access to basic health or educational services in rural and remote areas of Oregon.Vehicles owned and operated for municipal service (such as school buses or city buses) will not be considered.
    Mobile Food Distribution Vehicles (like mobile pantry vehicles or refrigerated trucks) are identified as a 2025 Roundhouse priority. Contact us to learn more.

American Express is offering 400 grants of $10,000 to locally significant small businesses with projects that boost resilience, promote sustainable growth, and deepen community impact. Applications open July 16 and close July 31. Selected businesses may also qualify for a $30,000 follow-up grant after completing their initial project.
